Ben Pearson arrows
This should give you an idea of the age of old Ben Pearson arrows

The
number 300 target arrow was hollow, the grain of the shaft was always pointed
in. The arrows were
matched within 3 grains, were barreled, and footed. A 27 inch arrow
spined for a 45 lb bow weighed
280
grains. If you run across any arrows marked 300 on the end of the box, please
let me know.
1938-1939 In the
first Ben Pearson catalogs the nocks were fiber enforced on the best target
arrows
The
lower grade self arrows had self nocks(Just a slot in the end of the
arrow)

The top grade of target arrow Were footed, barreled, hollow, matched for exact
spine,
matched
within grains(the weight of a postage stamp) and balance point.
All
this for $18.00 a doz. (Of course this was $18.00 in 1939)

1940
All target grade and field
grade arrows had the "new"pyrolin
nocks.
The lower grade cedar and birch arrow still had self nocks.
1941 All
arrows had pyrolin nocks, except the lowest grade birch
arrows.

Aluminum alloy arrows came out in the Ben Pearson line this
Year
They came in two sizes 9/32 and 1/4 diameter
1942-1952 All arrows had the
"new indx nocks" Except the 201 practice arrows
which
were
self nocks. The 218 arrows were also self-nock arrows, but were
on
made in 18 inch lengths.

1953- This nock has a ridge That runs to the end of the length of the nock
1954-
All arrows had indx nocks,
except the Jr arrows had self
nocks
the lowest arrows in the line.
1955- Last year barred feathers were used on top of the line target arrows.
1956- Tapered tabular fiberglass arrows were listed in the 1956 Ben Pearson catalog
1958-
Aluminum arrows appeared
in 1958 and all future catalogs.

1963- Startging
this year all purpose arrows had sprayed crest unusual three or four colors.These
arrows had speed nocks.

1969-
The Tracer hunting arrow came
out this year. It was a cedar shaft with a fluorescent orange
crest.
It was designed to allow the archer to "see" the arrow in flight.
It it last appeared in the 1972
catalog.
1970- Ben
Pearson Mercury XX80 Aluminum shafts appear in catalog. They had satin gold
anodized finish.
They
were made for the Mercury Golden sovereign
bows
Aluminum XX80 hunting arrows were listed in this catalog. They had a green
finish.

1972- Woodsman
fiberglass arrows are listed as a second fiberglass arrows after the deluxe
fiberglass
arrow
The
Woodsman fiberglass shaft is a green color. *Note Woodsman fiberglass arrows
never had a
crest
1976- The deluxe fiberglass arrows are still listed, but they are now a green color like the Woodsman fiberglass arrows This is the last year fiberglass target arrow are listed in the catalog..
1977- The
deluxe fiberglass arrows (Micro-flite)are dropped form the catalog. Just the
Woodsman
fiberglass
arrows
are listed the the catalogs. This is the last year the XX80 gold anodized arrows
were listed in the
catalog.
Target arrows with "Nock-fletch" came out. The cheap target arrows with one
piece nock and vanes
plastic
molded unit glued on the back of the
arrow.

1978- This the last year XX80 Ben Pearson arrows are listed in the catalogs
1980-
Ben Pearson Golden aluminum
arrows are listed in the catalog. They came in 2016's, 2018's,
2117's
and
2216's. They are XX75 Easton shafts. Tracer arrows were listed for the
first time in the
catalogs
The
first was a Golden tracer it had a florescent crest with green florescent vanes
with a glow
nock,
it
was a XX75 Easton shaft. The second was the Brown tracer arrow. It was like the
Golden
tracer,
except it was a 24SRTX Easton shaft( the shaft was darker). Bath tracers
came in the following sizes:
2016,2018, 2117,
and 2216.

1981- The
tracer arrows this year had florescent green crest, vanes and nocks. They were
XX75 Easton
shafts.
Ben
Pearson Eliminator arrows are listed in the catalog. They are gold colored , but
they are American
Eagle Easton shafts. There were brown anodized 24SRTX easton shafts in the
catalog this year. This is the
only
year they appeared..
