Ben Pearson Arrow Boxes

The Ben Parson plant did not change the arrow boxes every year. If fact some boxes were used for eleven years. The style of the box will give you an idea of the age of the box. The label on the end of the box has a logo. Logos were changed more often, that will narrow it down more. Hopefully the arrows came with the box. There are a few ways to tell the age of an arrow. I hope to get that information up soon.

1939

In 1939 the arrow boxes were wide and flat.
The box was single sheet cardboard(not
corrugated) The arrows were in a single layer in
three groups of four. The Ben Parson logo
was printed on the outside and inside of the
top of the box. The top of the box folded back
from the bottom.

1940-1942

This was a two piece corrugated box. The green lines                  There was also a wide box for arrows made durning this
fold over the end of the box.                                                        time period. I assume it was made defore the regular size
box came into use. This was a two-piece box.

1943-1943

This paper label was only used one year. The label folds over the end of the box top. There were two versions
one with captiol letters and one with small letters

1943-1945

This is a plain single layer cardboard bow with a Ben Pearson logo glued on it.

This is wooden arrow bow from the same time frame. It is a solid box, with cardboard holders for the arrows.
The top was nailed on. It has the same Pearson paper sticker as the coardboard box..
This may have been a result of a cardboard shortage durning the war.

1946-1947

These boxes were for one dozen arrows and 1/2 dozen arrows sets. The 1/2 dozen box slides
out on the ends to remove arrows.

1948-1959

This box was used longer then any other box. It came in several varieties. Most were single layer
cardboard with folded tops. Hunting arrows had a broadhead on the arrow in the logo. Target
arrows had a target point on the arrow in the logo. The 1/2 dozen boxes came in two varieties
the light colored variety had a folded top, the darker variety pulled out of the end of the box.
The one dozen boxes came in a variety that had a folded top and a two piece box that was
corrugated cardboard.

1960-1963

The paper labels over the arrows were angeled for field and huning arrows. For target arrows
the label was straight across.

1964-1965

This was a two piece corrugated box.The out side of the box does not change. The paper
label across the arrows changes. It is the same for Hunting and target arrows.

1966

This is the beginning of the open arrow box at Ben Pearson. one dozen and 1/2 dozen arrows
were sold in the same box. Cellophane covered the box.

1968

The box is open and a target on the side with trees on each side.

1969

These boxes held 1/2 dozen arrows. If you
wanted a dozen, the boxes fit together like
                                                                          a suitcase.

   1971

Hunting and Target arrow were in boxes with the same Hoof Print Logo

         1976

This box was used for a period of time, I am not sure how long.
The hunting arrows had green background. The target arrows
          had a orange background.

      1987

Arrows were plastic sealed on cardboard, six in a pack. Hunting arrows
had a green label, target arrows had a orange label.
